First this is what the set looks like and what it comes with.
Huile D'Ales Intense Hydrating Oil Treatment, Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask, Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Shampoo and Phyto 7 Daily Hydrating Botanical Cream.
And this is the Intense Hydrating Oil Treatment I'm going to talk about
I love oil treatments and used the classic VO5 hot oil many times when I used to bleach my hair. This seems very similar but much more natural.
With curly hair my ends tend to get very dry and frizzy, so I'm excited to use this product.
PHYTO says:
A unique blend of essential oils to instantly moisturize and restore radiance to dry, dull hair.
Ingredients:
CALENDULA OFFICINALIS FLOWER EXTRACT, PEG-35 CASTOR OIL, SODIUM LAUROYL OAT AMINO ACIDS (OATS AMINO ACIDS DERIVATIVE), PALMITOYL HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN (WHEAT AMINO ACIDS DERIVATIVE), SALVIA OFFICINALIS (SAGE) OIL, CITRUS MEDICA LIMONUM (LEMON) PEEL OIL, ROSMARINUS OFFICNALIS (ROSEMARY) LEAF OIL, JUNIPERUS COMMUNIS FRUIT OIL (JUNIPER BERRIES), ZEA MAYS (CORN) OIL, VINEGAR/ACETUM, LIMONENE, CITRAL, BETA CAROTENE, WATER, PHENOXYETHANOL, METHYLISOTHIAZOLIONE, METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE. BOTANICAL ORIGIN.Quite the list. I always like to know what's in products and google the first few ingredients (since ingredients are listed most to least). First fancy word is Marigold extract. Everything else explains itself to me.
It comes in a glass tube that I was a little worried about at first, since I don't want to cut myself.
I used the paper holder thing to snap off the one end.
The product was tricky to get out, so I'm not too worried about it leaking. I had to give it a couple good shakes to get out.
You can really smell the Rosemary and Sage in this oil, which I love. It reminds me of natural food stores, or new age stores. Very calming and relaxing. A little goes a long way with this product and I only used between a third to half of the vial on my hair. I only applied it to the ends, as directed, and I have medium/thick hair.
My left overs
I left it in my hair for 30 mins as directed and washed it out using the PHYTO Intense Hydrating Shampoo (wait to see the next post on Friday about that product). After washing it out, my ends did feel softer, and less straw like.
Pros:
- Pleasing fregrance
- Natural Ingredients
- Glass tube worried me without the proper applicator
- Odd amount of product, not enough for 3 applications, too much for 2
Looks like you can buy the product on it's own with a spray applicator thing from Sephora for $28 (US Dollars). I would definitely buy this product with my own money in the future.
