FOTD - February 28, 2010

No fancy post today, I couldn't edit my video this weekend. So instead I bring you my face of the day.

Yes it's colourful, yes, I wore it to the office. ;)

Easy Vintage Inspired Up Do

This is a hair style I wear on a frequent occasion, mostly because I'm that lazy and I save 20 mins by not blow drying my hair. Enjoy!

This is a tag that went around on YouTube for a while. I thought it'd be fun. :)

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?

RIMMEL London Extra Super Lash Mascara Review

I'm forever on the quest for the perfect mascara. If you didn't know, I'm a mascara addict!! As a blonde with naturally thin, short, basically invisible lashes, I NEED something to make them stand out. I'm also broke ass cheep right now and got the cheepest mascara I could find at the drugstore.

Quo Make-up Remover Wipes Review

I'm always on the look out for a good make-up wipe. I just can't be bothered with liquid make-up removers I have to shake and put on a cotton pad, blah blah blah. I want to pull out a tissue, wipe my face and get on with my night.

So I headed out to my favorite drugstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, and picked up these bad boys.

Beauty School? more like Beauty Fool!

I hear it all the time, "What beauty school would you recommend?" or "I'm going to beauty school to become a makeup artist". Honestly, if you have $15000 to spend on something fun, go for it. If you'd rather buy a car, I'd suggest that more.

Cleaning Your Make Up Brushes

There are people out there who don't know how to, or even to, clean their makeup brushes. This is just a quick video showing you how I clean my makeup brushes.

I do this every couple weeks, getting all the makeup and bacteria off my brushes.

Top Tips:
Lay your brushes flat - keeping brushes upright in a jar is fine when they are dry, but when they are still wet water can get into the ferrule (the metal part of the brush where the bristles meet the handle). This will ruin your brushes, breaking down the glue, having the brush separate from the handle.
Sanitize - using alcohol or a cleanser with sanitizing agents in it will prevent bacteria from growing in your brushes, and going onto your face.
Cleanse Often - Even if it's just a spot clean with alcohol or brush cleanser, cleaning will help prolong the life of your brushes and keep bacteria from growing on your tools and transferring to your face.

I hope this helps!
