10 Uses for Aloe Vera You Probably Didn't Know

I touched briefly on aloe vera in my sun burn post, but did you know that aloe vera has more uses than relieving the pain of that nasty burn?

Here's 10 uses for aloe vera you probably didn't know.

10: Dental Health & Hygiene
Aloe vera is extremely healthy for you mouth and gums.

9. Rapid Soothing (kay the one we kinda knew...)
Aloe Vera is legendary (legan-wait for it-dary) for its soothing properties.

8. Aids Digestion
A healthy digestive tract ensures that nutrients from the foods we eat are absorbed into the blood stream. Aloe Vera juice has natural detoxifying benefits. (I have to try this, because that lemon and cayenne pepper thing, sucked!)

7. Provides Immune Support and Function
The juice from aloe vera provides natural support for the immune system. Since the immune system works around the clock protecting the body, aloe vera, with its natural immune enhancers, gives the body the continual arsenal from which to draw.  Drinking 2 to 4 oz of Aloe Vera Juice regularly may give your immune system the helping hand it needs.

6. Weight and Energy Levels
Aloe Vera juice naturally, and with regular use, allows the body to cleanse the digestive system. Our diets include many unwanted substances which can cause lethargy and exhaustion. Taken regularly, aloe vera juice ensures a greater feeling of well-being, allowing energy levels to increase and helping to maintain a healthy body weight.

5. Benefits Collagen and Elastin Repair
Aloe Vera juice can add a rich supply of building materals to produce and help replenish the skin.

4. Minerals
Some of the minerals found in aloe vera juice include calcium, sodium, iron, potassium, chromium, magnesium, maganese, copper and zinc.

3. Vitamins
Aloe Vera juice includes vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E, as well as Folic Acid and Niacin. The human body cannot store some of these vitamins there fore we need to supplement them regularly through our diets.

2. Anti-inflammatory Properties
Aloe Vera has 12 natural substances that have been shown to inhibit inflammation without side effects. It also may support proper joint muscle mobility.

1. Body-Building Blocks
Amino acids are our body's building blocks. Eight health benefits which are essential and cannot be made by the body are found within aloe vera.

Now I wonder how it tastes....

  1. I take it, it doesn't taste like a lot. I mix it into a bit of juice anyways. Don't take too much the first few times though because it can also be a mild laxative, take it when you'll know you'll be home until you know how it will effect you.
